The left border of heading 4. How Long Will I Need To Come For Treatment? The right border of heading
Back to FAQ

A4. The answer to this question will depends on your unique health concerns and the physical condition you are seeking help for. Generally speaking most of the people with acute conditions such as low back sprain or sports injuries usually need one to two courses of treatment. A course of treatments is a series of 10-12 visits. They may be 2-3 times per week for a month or once a week for 3 months, or something completely different based on your specific needs. Most often there is a period of more frequent treatment over the first couple of weeks and then there will be a gradual reduction in frequency as the body recovers. Patients are encouraged to fully participate in any physical therapy, alternative therapies or other western treatment that has been recommended while receiving their acupuncture treatment.

People with more chronic conditions such as arthritis, hepatitis C or menopausal disorders require a treatment schedule that is often ongoing and may continue indefinitely. The main goal with this treatment schedule is to find a minimum frequency of treatment that controls the symptoms to the greatest degree possible while addressing and attempting to correct the underlying cause of the health condition. This approach will vary from patient to patient depending on their health care needs and the severity of the condition. For some patients this means a visit is once per week, for others it may men a visit once per month or even less frequently depending on their unique requirements. Treatment plans are individually tailored and revised as necessary to meet the needs of both the body and the budget.
